How I work

My core training is Transpersonal which means that my philosophy & therapeutic orientation is humanistic, and that I positively value and encourage each person's unique potential including any spiritual beliefs they hold.

I am committed to offering services that do not discriminate against others on grounds of race, culture, gender, sexuality, class, religion, mental/physical disability, age and HIV status.

I work to fixed term contracts: short term (6 to 10 sessions), medium term (6 to 9 months) or longer term (up to 2 years). If I have space, these contracts can be extended.

My way of working is to help individuals identify their strengths and qualities and to see where these can be harnessed to help resolve their difficulties or reach their full potentials.

In practical terms this means providing a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment where I can listen to and respond to a person's life story and recurrent life's themes, and help them either come to terms with the unchangeable or make healthy choices for their future.

Due to my Transpersonal training I have an interest in dreams and how our psychological well being reflects on our bodies. I have trained in body focussed therapy with Nick Totton (Embodied Relational Therapy) and with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI). I have also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Emotional Freedom Technique and Lifespan Integration.
