Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Dissociative Conditions

I work with those symptoms and distresses of trauma and traumatic memories that result from identifiable specific incidents (such as car accidents, rape/s, workplace bullying, domestic violence) and developmental trauma, complex PTSD and dissociative conditions up to and including Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Developmental trauma can result from growing up in dangerous or chaotic environments that may have included sexual abuse, domestic violence or grooming and intentional splitting of ego development.

I have the ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation) ‘Working with Dissociative Disorders’ training and been a trainer for the ESTD (European Society for Trauma and Dissociation). In addition, I use a combination of other techniques to address the trauma responses drawn from the trainings listed below:

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute Treatment of Trauma

EMDR (Eye Movement and De-sensitisation Reprocessing) is a NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) recommended treatment for post-traumatic shock disorder.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) a gentle treatment that focuses on symptoms rather than the trauma itself.

Lifespan Integration (LI) a treatment for those people whose trauma responses mean that EMDR can be too de-stabilising.
